Red Herring Backpack

Backpacks seem to be all the rage at the moment and don't seem to be going anywhere. I wasn't in any rush to join in with this trend and if I'm being honest, I'm still not overly keen. And here comes the massive however... However I saw this one in Debenhams a few weeks ago and just had to have it.
This one by Red Herring is a cream boucle stitched design with patent cream edging and faux leather straps. It is definitely not your typical back pack, more on the posher, girly side and it reminds me of something from the 90's. Its boucle/tweed material is very 'Clueless' if you know what I mean. This is the main reason I fell in love with it. Another amazing bonus is that with backpacks you feel so free. Honestly it sounds strange but to not be weighed down on one shoulder by a handbag is a dream. The weight is evenly distributed on your back, which means it feels lighter and there's nothing under your arm, so walking is much more comfortable.
The main reason I don't like backpacks are that they are very inconvenient. When in a shop you have to take it off your back, hold it with one hand, undo the clip, pull out the strap and then root around for your purse. Then shove it all back in, throw it back on your back and then grab your shopping. This is proving very timely and a lot of hassle for me. Also when your walking along I am always scared someone is going to rob me from behind and I wouldn't even know. Although with this one it has got a hard pull strap to undo which I would like to think I would feel if someone tried to get in. Just to be on the safe side I only wear it in the town where I live, I don't think I would go somewhere busy like London.

Overall I love my new backpack and I have been getting a lot of use out of it. I got this for an absolute steal at £10.50 which is the main reason I bought it. Had it been full price at £32 I would have just walked away.

  1. This is such a cute bag! I completely agree with you about feeling free & being worried that you'll be robbed! That's definitely a great price though - I think £32 wold definitely be too expensive! Xx

  3. I love your backpack, such a neat design and you look really yummy wearing your Hotpants and Wellingtons such an adorable combination.

  4. I have to admit, I am not a back pack fan at ALL, and actually remember my mother having her purse stolen from hers when I was much younger, but this is so gorgeous that I think I'd have been tempted to pick it up for such a great price, too! xx

    1. Oh no that sucks! You do have to be very careful, but as long you don't wear it in busy area's it's probably fine. Such a bargain! x

  5. Such a cute bag, lovely material and colour. I normally opt for a shoulder bag for the reasons you have said that taking if off the back is a pain but probably better for your back than having all the weight on one shoulder Lucy x

    1. I love it! Yes it's so much more comfortable on my bag and a lot easier to carry, just a bit annoying for some things x
