Bourjois So Laque Glossy Nail Varnish

You may have seen a few weeks ago I picked a couple of nail varnishes from Superdrug in a 3 for 2 sale. So here is the third and final one which is from the Bourjois So Laque Glossy range in the shade Adora Bleu. This baby blue polish caught my eye straight away and again, just had to have it!

www.superdrug.com/Bourjois/Bourjois-So-Laque-Glossy-Nail-Polish-Adora-Bleu £5.99
I haven't tried any varnishes from this range before but I was very happy with my purchase. It is thick and the colour is solid so it applies very well. The varnish is smooth and you can probably get away with just applying one coat if your in a rush, although two does look a lot better. I would say this is a very good quality nail varnish, definitely one of the best I've used and the colour looks exactly the same on as it does in the bottle. Its a beautiful soft cornflour blue shade which looks gorgeous in the summer and is a little bit different. Even though it is blue, which can be quite scary, its not bright or in your face. The pastel shade is subtle and can suit any occasion.
I didn't leave it on for 10 days which it promises but the varnish has brilliant staying power and still looked great, with no chipping, a week later when I took it off and changed it. It does what it says on the bottle and leaves a lovely glossy finish without a top coat. Again I did use this on false nails so I can't comment on natural nails but I am sure it is just as good. This gets a massive thumbs up from me and I am definitely going to buy more shades from this Bourjois range.

Red Herring Backpack

Backpacks seem to be all the rage at the moment and don't seem to be going anywhere. I wasn't in any rush to join in with this trend and if I'm being honest, I'm still not overly keen. And here comes the massive however... However I saw this one in Debenhams a few weeks ago and just had to have it.
Similar www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/
This one by Red Herring is a cream boucle stitched design with patent cream edging and faux leather straps. It is definitely not your typical back pack, more on the posher, girly side and it reminds me of something from the 90's. Its boucle/tweed material is very 'Clueless' if you know what I mean. This is the main reason I fell in love with it. Another amazing bonus is that with backpacks you feel so free. Honestly it sounds strange but to not be weighed down on one shoulder by a handbag is a dream. The weight is evenly distributed on your back, which means it feels lighter and there's nothing under your arm, so walking is much more comfortable.
The main reason I don't like backpacks are that they are very inconvenient. When in a shop you have to take it off your back, hold it with one hand, undo the clip, pull out the strap and then root around for your purse. Then shove it all back in, throw it back on your back and then grab your shopping. This is proving very timely and a lot of hassle for me. Also when your walking along I am always scared someone is going to rob me from behind and I wouldn't even know. Although with this one it has got a hard pull strap to undo which I would like to think I would feel if someone tried to get in. Just to be on the safe side I only wear it in the town where I live, I don't think I would go somewhere busy like London.

Overall I love my new backpack and I have been getting a lot of use out of it. I got this for an absolute steal at £10.50 which is the main reason I bought it. Had it been full price at £32 I would have just walked away.

Sponsored Video| Dove Advanced Hair Series

Dove Advanced Hair Series* is a new hair care range by Dove tailored to different hair types. It is split in to three ranges offering expert care for your hair needs. The three ranges are: Youthful Vitality for aging hair, Oxygen Moisture for fine/flat hair, or Pure Care Dry Oil for dry/dull hair.

Here is a short introduction video

My hair is particularly dry from where I have dyed it a lot, therefore I would probably go for the Pure care dry oil range. This consists of a shampoo, condition, treatment mask, nourishing treatment oil and a restorative treatment oil. These products are infused with African Macadamia oil to deeply nourish your hair, leaving it five times more silkier.

For more information about all the ranges check out the Dove hair care website.

These products can be purchased from Boots, SuperdrugTesco and Amazon

Chiara Fashion Kimono Style Challenge

I was contacted by online clothing brand Chiara Fashion* to take part in their Kimono Style Challenge whereby I had to use one of their Kimono's in 3 different outfits. I chose to do a evening oufit, a festival outfit and a beach outfit. Here is how I styled them.

Outfit 1 - Evening/Going out
Kimono www.chiarafashion.co.uk/retro-floral-print-fringe-chiffon-kimono-in-orange.html £9.95
Top - Miss Pap
Jeans - H&M
Heels - New Look (old)
I would wear this outfit for drinks out at a bar. I think jeans and heels always look classy together, the lace crop top shows quite a bit of skin so its nicely counter balanced by the kimono. Its nice to cover up a little bit in the evenings but sometimes you don't want to ruin an outfit by throwing on a cardigan. The kimono feels comfortable yet stylish and is still very light. I love how the rest of the outfit is quite plain but you then have a big splash of colour over the top.

Outfit 2 - Festival
Headband - Primark
Top - Topshop
Shorts - Miss Guided (old)
Wellies - Hunters
I love this outfit for a festival or any other outdoor occasions this summer. Again the shorts and crop top show a bit more skin than usual but the kimono covers this up nicely. The wellies look great with this outfit and protect you from the mud. You will definitely stand out from the crowd at a festival with this kimono and not look the same as every other person there.

Outfit 3 - Beach/By the pool
Swimsuit - Forever 21 (last season)
Shorts - as above
Sandals - New Look
I would definitely wear this kimono loads on holiday, it is great to put on over a swimming costume when you get out of the pool. I would also wear it to walk around town, along the beach or even in the evening as a light cover up for dinner.

You can check out Chiara Fashion on their site www.chiarafashion.co.uk or on twitter twitter.com/ChiaraFashion
They have so many different Kimono's on sale at the moment so grab one now!

Lots of love

P.S. Let me know which one is your favourite outfit or how you would style this kimono?

Primark Haul Video

Primark Primark Primark!!!!

Here is another haul video for you of a few bits I picked up at the weekend. Notice the bits where I argue with myself over the colour of a bag, get way too happy about the price of a headband and use Ibiza as an adjective! Forgive me for my weirdness!

If you have any questions please leave them down below.

Red Label Midi Dress

Last week I received this lovely flower print midi dress from Red Label* who are an online fashion brand selling stylish clothing at really cheap prices. I have seen many bits on their website that I want, so if your bored of buying from the same old companies and looking for a new brand then I would check them out.
Red Label Dress
www.loveredlabel.com/shop/poppy-print-cami-midi-dress £18.99
There was a mistake and this dress was sent to me in a size 10 instead of a size 8 but I tried it on and decided it wasn't horrendously big. I think a size 8 would have been perfect so these seem true to size and are a bit stretchy as well as they are bodycon material. The poppy/flower print on the dress is very summery and will brighten up the room when you walk in. All of the products from Red Label are great prices and range from about £10-£20 which is very bargainous!
Red Label Dress
As you can see it does look a tiny bit big on me so a smaller size would have been perfect. At first I wasn't sure about the shape of this dress as it is a bit longer than your usual midi, however with a pair of heels it does look very sophisticated. This isn't a dress I would wear during the day but would look gorgeous at a party or a nice dinner. It has a good neckline which doesn't show too much cleavage (if I had any) and the waistband brings in the dress and enhances the female figure. I think this dress will suit many shapes and sizes, it also has a split in the back so it's easier to walk in.

Maxfactor Glossfinity Nail Varnishes

Nail polishes aren't something that really get my juices flowing when I step into a Superdrug, however while doing my weekly rounds I did spot these two and couldn't resist. These are the Maxfactor Glossfinity varnishes, in the shades 'Candy Rose' and 'Midnight Bronze', claiming to stay glossy for up to 7 days.

Maxfactor Glossfinity
Maxfactor Glossfinity Candy Rose and Midnight Bronze £5.99 each
I first spotted the rose colour and thought it was so unique, a very English rose pink shade. I didn't need any more nail varnishes but I couldn't bring myself to put it down. I was very much in love and just had to have it. Below this one I then noticed this gorgeous rose gold/bronze shade and fell in love all over again. Those of you that know me well, will know how obsessed I am with rose gold, and I have been looking for a rose gold polish for ages. I did come close once with a NYX jobbie but this one is much nicer. It is a very subtle rose gold shade but it's definitely there!
Maxfactor Glossfinity
Maxfactor Glossfinity
These polishes are very good quality and do apply very well. You could probably just get away with one coat but look a lot better with 2. They dry quickly and leave a nice glossy sheen. As you can see I applied them on false nails, and nail varnish applies and lasts so much better on fake nails. So for me they lasted 7 days and still looked great however I do not know if this will be the same story on my natural nails.

I normally don't like spending £6 on a nail varnish (I am very much a cheapskate) however it was 3 for 2 so it must of been fate. I picked up another one from Bourjois but that's another blog post for you. I am very much in love with my new varnishes and shall be getting a lot of use of out them.
