La Roche Posay Anthelios AC SPF 30

A few weeks ago I mentioned a site called Chemist Direct and showed you a couple of products I got from them. As facial SPF has become very important in my life, and I predict lots of your lives, I thought I would post a more detailed review of this holy grail product for you. All hail the La Roche-Posay Anthelios AC SPF 30 Matte Extreme Fluid*.

As we all have heard, the best way to prevent premature skin ageing is to wear an SPF everyday, but as we have so many steps in our skin routines this can be a bit of a chore to add in. This may look like a simple little bottle but it packs a lot of punch. This SPF by La Roche-Posay is quick and easy to use, lasts a long time, not harsh on skin and drys matte so you don't look shiny. I have seen plently of SPF reviews in magazines at the moment and the La Roche-Posay range has come out on top.

It comes out very liquid which is great as it's easier to apply all over the face, there is nothing worse than really thick cream (cue flashback to my mum spending hours rubbing sun cream on my chubby arms in a Spanish hotel room). In my opinion it smells quite milky which I love, as much as I like that usual sun cream smell, I don't want harsh fragrances on my face.

As you rub it in, it does feel a bit chalky if you get my drift, so might not be great for really dry skin. However as it soaks in quite quickly you don't need to wait ages to apply any make up, I normally wait about 5-10 mins. I found that if I applied a full coverage matte foundation after my skin was fine and didn't look shiny. But when I applied a more light coverage dewy foundation, I did look a bit too dewy, so powder was needed.

I am barely ever in the sun during the day as I am in the office, therefore I only apply this in the morning. However if you are in the sun all day long I would recommend reapplying every few hours, like you would normally. I truly believe applying SPF is a very crucial step and I will definitely not be missing it out in future. It may not look like this is doing you any favours now, but you will thank yourself in the future!
