Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder

A a couple of months ago I made an order from Escentaul to buy a few french pharmacy products. With these purchases I bought the Vichy Dermablend full cover foundation, review here, and the setting powder. I have only heard amazing things about this powder so I couldn't wait to try it out. I have tried it out for the last few weeks so I thought it was about time to share my opinion. Its allergy tested, and paraben and fragrance free, which is a massive positive.
www.escentual.com/vichydermablend09 Normally £17
This translucent setting powder is designed to prolong the wear of the Vichy Corrective foundations and cover sticks, however it can be used with any other foundation as well. It claims to ensure smudge resistance and water resistance for upto 16 hours, which is a very long time. I never wear foundation for that length of time so I'm not sure if this is true, but I would say it has made my foundation last a good 9 hours. I have only used it with my Dermablend foundation so it probably does the same thing for other foundations but maybe it doesn't last the full 16 hours.
The powder is extremely light weight so you barely feel like your putting anything on your skin. It has tiny light particles so is gentle on the skin and easy to blend. I believe this powder is definitely suited to most skin types, its not harsh at all so is fine on sensitive skin. If you have oily skin this soaks up the extra so you aren't shiny, and it's not drying so doesn't bring out patches on dry skin. I don't use the puff it comes with, I use my Real Techniques due fiber powder brush to dust on a light sprinkling.
The Dermablend setting powder is completely translucent so doesn't change the colour of your foundation as all. I would say it has a light matte finish like most powders but as it's so subtle, it doesn't affect your make up if your going for a dewy look. It's so hard to believe that a product which barely feels like you are applying can make your make up stay for a few more extra hours, but it really does work. My foundation stays in place, doesn't rub off on my hand or clothes and I can still see it all there at the end of the day when I take my make up off. I don't actually have any negative points about this powder and I don't really see how anyone could not like it.

The Vichy Dermablend setting powder is normally £17 even I would say is quite pricey but the container is so big that I think this product could last me a couple of years. Keep in mind that I probably only wear foundation at the weekend but if I did wear it everyday I would still say this powder would last over a year. You get so much product for your money and it is one of the best setting powders out there that it is so worth it. Plus you are saving money on foundation as you don't have to keep reapplying it throughout the day!

Escentual is actually having a french pharmacy sale at the moment so the Vichy powder is only £11.33 which is a total bargain! You can check it out here www.escentual.com/vichydermablend09/.

Lots of love

Chloe x

P.S. Have you tried any of the Vichy Dermablend range?

    1. Yes it does sound very similar. I don't think this one has always been made by Vichy, I think Vichy took it over quite recently so it's probably the same product. I love the Dermablend foundation, its so good for covering imperfections and apparently does cover tattoo's as well x
