Veil Cover Cream

Hello

I was recently sent a sample kit of Veil Cover Cream* to try out. As you may or may not know I have quite bad acne scaring on my face and a few beauty spots dotted around which I am not too keen on. I try to cover them up the best I can but often foundation and concealer doesn't quite cut it, so I was excited to try this product out. Veil can be used to cover scars, acne, birthmarks, vitiligo, varicose veins, tattoos, rosacea, portwine stains and eczema, so I thought this must work on me.

In the sample kit they send you every single shade they have so that you can match your skin tone. I found this bloody difficult. I don't know why but I found it very hard looking at all the shades to pick one that matched my skin. In the end I think I mixed a couple of shades and thought this was close enough, you just apply it like a concealer. You then apply a translucent powder over the top to matte it out and keep it in place.

Before

Sorry about the ugly photos but it's hard to get where I look nice and show my acne scarring (and dodgy purple hair).

I am a bit more tanned in the before pics because I am wearing fake tan and the lighting is a bit poor in the after pics but the result is very clear. My skin looks so much better and nearly flawless after.
After

The spot on my nose is just a scab so didn't need covering up.

Overall I was very impressed. As you can see from the pictures my scarring had all been covered. You could sort of still see some of the beauty spots but this wasn't too bad. The only bad thing is that I thought it kind of looked a bit cakey. I did put quite a bit on but there are going to be some people with worse skin than mine and they will have to put loads on, so this might look even more cakey. It did stay on a long time, and it even says its waterproof which is cool, although I didn't go swimming with it on.
I would probably purchase a full sized one if my scarring got a lot worse but most of the time it doesn't bother me that much.

You can find Veil Cover Cream on their site www.veilcovercream.com or on Twitter twitter.com/VeilCoverCream.

  2. I understand wanting to cover up the scarring, but your beauty spots? like beauty marks? I think you are beautiful and you look wonderful spots and all lol. I like to cover up my crap too, but I hate when I still see bumps. If they come up with something that can have them go away then I am in lol. Thanks for sharing this lil gem love :)

    1. Yh a lot of people like beauty spots but I seem to have loads and I don't really like them. Its really hard to cover them up. Yh I think it will be a miracle when they figure out how to cover bumps. That will be amazing x

  3. The coverage seems nice. Although if you say applying a lot makes it look cakey them it isn't something I would love. For acne scaring, I heard lots of good things about bio oil. Just got myself a bottle and I'm going to be using that with my usual routine. I will have a post up after constant use. x

    1. Yh it's a good product but maybe not for everyday, I would probs just use it when I'm going out. I used bio oil for a few months and didn't see any difference so I gave up. I hope it works for you x

  6. Hey! Quick question that's entirely off topic.
Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My blog
looks weird when browsing from my iphone 4.

I'm trying to find a template or plugin that might be able to fix this problem.
If you have any recommendations, please share. With thanks!

    1. Hi, I am not 100% sure. Blogger just has a standard mobile site option I think. Sorry I can't be more help! x
