Save The Blow Dry

Hi jewels

I got sent a few weeks ago a wonderful product by Save The Blow Dry*. It's the cutest shower cap ever that you wear to keep your hair dry in the bath or shower for all the reasons you might not want to wash your hair e.g. to keep your hair in good condition, you have just styled it, you don't have time to dry it, you don't want to use too much heat or simply it doesn't need washing. £14.95
If you read my healthy hair post you will know that I don't like to wash my hair too often. It is much healthier for you if you don't wash it everyday, so I try to just wash it about 2-3 times a week. This helps your hair develop in its natural oils so it grows better and is generally in a better condition. Therefore when I shower I am constantly having to tie my hair up or use those rubbish thin shower caps that you can steal from hotels (I'm not a thief, I am sure everyone does it).

Getting ready before my shower
So I am extremely happy that I received this great product, not only is it pink, cute and girly just like me, it works amazingly! It is soft and fluffy on the inside so its comfortable and soaks up any water which may work its way in. And it has thick plastic on the outside so is very water resistant and it keeps your hair completely dry. The elastic is tight enough to keep your hair in and water out, but its not uncomfortable because of the soft fabric so its a win win! I have so much hair which is very long and heavy but it all stayed in the cap easily.

You can even turn it inside out so the plastic is on the inside to use over a hair mask which is such a great idea. I honestly love this product so much, its extremely useful and well made.

It was really hard to take a flattering pic haha
If you want to purchase one of these awesome shower caps you can find Save The Blow Dry on Twitter

Mini NYX Haul

Hiya lovelies

I am obsessed with rose gold at the moment. So I was on the lookout for some rose gold make up, and I came across loads of the NYX Cosmetics site. I haven't purchased any NYX products before so I was really excited to try them. I received great service from them, it arrived quickly and I was very impressed with my purchases.

The first product I bought is a single eyeshadow in the shade 'Rust'. This is more of a cranberry colour with rusty gold tones, so its not really rose gold but I saw swatches online and it looked gorgeous. Its perfect for a night time autumn/winter look and I love it. It is very pigmented so you can sweep a tiny bit on for a light coat or build it up for a brighter colour.

The next is a glam shadow stick in the shade 'Rose Gold'. It is a cream eyeshadow which is the most perfect rose gold colour. It is very quick and easy to use so if your in a rush, you can just swipe it on add some eyeliner and mascara then your ready to go. Its very subtle so can be used everyday or layered up and used at night. The picture really doesn't do it justice, its exactly the right rose gold shade and I think its absolutely gorgeous.

The next is a loose pearl powder in the shade 'Fanta' and its my absolute favourite purchase. Its more of a pink rose gold and I am so in love. I wet my eye brush with water or fixing spray and then pack on the pigment for a real eye popping bright shadow. The gold pigments shine in different lights so the colour changes when you turn. It stays on the lid well even without water, there was barely any fall out and I am so in love with this product.

The last purchase is a rose gold nail varnish in the shade 'Roots'. The varnish is super glittery, it's quite subtle as the colour is light and the glitter particles are tiny but as its rose gold it's very glam. It's quite thin so needs 2 or 3 coats on its own or you could wear it over another colour like red or black. It will look very sophisticated for a night out or posh event.

Overall I am so impressed with my NYX purchases and I will definitely be buying more products from them in the future. They are really good quality and so cheap! I might do a video tutorial soon using these products so let me know if you want to see that.

Primark Dresses

Hey sweethearts
I bought a few things in Primark a couple of weeks ago, they have loads of great things in at the moment but I thought I would just show you my two new lovely dresses.

Primark £15

Primark £8

As tartan is very in at the moment everyone has this tartan dress from Primark. Although it looks like a catholic school girl uniform, I absolutely love it, so I had to jump on the bandwagon and buy it. I think its so cute and it comes in a few other colours as well.
The second dress is a cute little tea dress. Its suitable for everyday and for work as it is just easy to throw on over a pair of tights and it looks great. Its very thin and light though so make sure you wear it with a cardie in this weather (I sound like an old women lol).

I hope you like my outfits lovelies.

Lots of love

Topshop Lipstick

Helllooo fairies
A couple of months ago I bought my first piece of Topshop make up, which was a lipstick. The shade is called Boom Boom and its a sweet candy pink colour.

Topshop £8

The texture is lovely and creamy and a very similar formula to the Mac lipsticks which is great as it goes on smoothly and easily. It is not drying at all and stays creamy all day. It can have the tendency to go into the cracks on your lips a little bit but it's not overly that bad and still looks great all day, you just have to spread it out a bit. I absolutely love the colour, its gorgeous for spring/summer. And although its freezing outside, I still think you can wear it in winter as it is sort of a frosty pink and reminds me of snow. It can be compared to Mac's Candy Yum Yum, but its just a bit lighter.

I love this lipstick and I would definitely purchase another one from Topshop as they are very similar to Mac but nearly half the price!

Bliss Dress

Hey beauts

I got sent a absolutely beautiful dress by Bliss Clothing*. Its a lovely black Grecian style maxi dress with gold plait detailing which I took on holiday with me to wear. I did take photo's of me wearing the dress but I can't find them anywhere for some reason. A took some more pictures at home for you so you can see the dress so this is why this blog post has taken awhile. £25.00
I think its absolutely beautiful and perfect if you have a nice event or place to go as it is quite dressy. However you can make it more casual and wear with a denim jacket and sandals for a summery everyday look. The dress is very slimming and is very flattering on all body shapes. It also comes in pink and red.

I hope you like it as much as me.

Veil Cover Cream

I was recently sent a sample kit of Veil Cover Cream* to try out. As you may or may not know I have quite bad acne scaring on my face and a few beauty spots dotted around which I am not too keen on. I try to cover them up the best I can but often foundation and concealer doesn't quite cut it, so I was excited to try this product out. Veil can be used to cover scars, acne, birthmarks, vitiligo, varicose veins, tattoos, rosacea, portwine stains and eczema, so I thought this must work on me.

Veil cover cream £19.95

In the sample kit they send you every single shade they have so that you can match your skin tone. I found this bloody difficult. I don't know why but I found it very hard looking at all the shades to pick one that matched my skin. In the end I think I mixed a couple of shades and thought this was close enough, you just apply it like a concealer. You then apply a translucent powder over the top to matte it out and keep it in place.

Sorry about the ugly photos but it's hard to get where I look nice and show my acne scarring (and dodgy purple hair).

I am a bit more tanned in the before pics because I am wearing fake tan and the lighting is a bit poor in the after pics but the result is very clear. My skin looks so much better and nearly flawless after.

The spot on my nose is just a scab so didn't need covering up.

Overall I was very impressed. As you can see from the pictures my scarring had all been covered. You could sort of still see some of the beauty spots but this wasn't too bad. The only bad thing is that I thought it kind of looked a bit cakey. I did put quite a bit on but there are going to be some people with worse skin than mine and they will have to put loads on, so this might look even more cakey. It did stay on a long time, and it even says its waterproof which is cool, although I didn't go swimming with it on.
I would probably purchase a full sized one if my scarring got a lot worse but most of the time it doesn't bother me that much.

You can find Veil Cover Cream on their site or on Twitter

Lots of love pixie's

Mac Haul

Hey chicka's

I recently went on holiday and bought a few Mac products in Duty free. I can't remember the prices that I paid so I am just going to post the prices that are on the Mac website. I hope you like them.

Lipstick Rebel (satin) £15
This lovely plum shade is very popular at the moment especially as it is coming upto winter. It's just the perfect colour for the colder months and I think it would suit most skin tones. Don't be put off by how dark the actual lipstick looks as it is a lot lighter on as you can see from the swatch. I really love this lipstick and I'm going to be wearing it loads.

Pro Longwear Liner - More to Love £14.50
I don't really use lipliners that much but I saw the colour of this and fell in love. I wanted a lipstick this colour but couldn't find one (although rebel is very similar this is more pink). You can wear lipliners all over your lips so I just do this with it. Doing this can be quite drying but it you add a balm or gloss over it, it looks gorgeous. I really am in love with this colour and it stays on for ages. You can also wear it as a liner for Rebel as they are very close.

Lipglass - Viva Glam £14
I didn't really need this but I saw it on the counter when I was paying and just picked it up for some reason. I don't think I will wear this that often as I'm more of a lipstick gal rather than a lipgloss (I don't like my hair sticking to the gloss so I don't often wear it lol). But it is a nice deep red and adds real depth to your lips. Its very easy to apply and it makes them look bigger and shiny. I think I would wear this for a night out rather then everyday.
The profit from the sale of Viva Glam products goes towards helping people living with HIV/Aids.

Pro Longwear Eyeshadow - Sweet satisfaction £17
This eyeshadow is a soft bronze, gold, taupe colour. Its so soft and easy to to blend, is very shimmery and looks great on its own for everyday or build it up with other shadows for the evening. Its very similar to the popular shade in the naked 2 palette 'half baked'. My pictures really don't show the true colour that well as it is difficult to photograph, it's a lot more bronze/gold in real life. Its a very easy colour to wear and a great all rounder so I really do recommend it if your looking for a subtly neutral eyeshadow.

Have you bought any new Mac products recently that you love?

Thanks so much for reading tigers
